Membership

Anyone can be a member of the Webster Groves Historical Society. All one needs is an interest in history, old homes, and a few hours a month to attend meetings and help with activities. At the April 2001 meeting the Board approved a new membership directive that includes a change in membership categories as well as different direction for membership. The Society membership is currently at 197 paid members. The new membership structure and prices are as follows:

Senior/Student $15
Basic $25 (single or couple)
Patron /Corporate $50
$100 Century
$500 Sponsor

For exisiting members, the new price stucture will take effect upon next year's renewal. By March 2003 this will take effect across the board.

All Historical Society members receive free admission to Hawken House, the quarterly newsletter, reduced admission for special exhibits, and the satisfaction of knowing they help preserve the heritage of Webster Groves.

Member's support is greatly appreciated, but the money generated by dues is not what is important. Participation in events and involvement in club projects is what helps the organization thrive. This is also the most rewarding benefit of all.

The Board is looking for members that wish to participate in newly formed committees such as: education, fundraising events,  house tours and the antique show.
